ON A CUSHION. DURING STORM. AT SEA.

All of us were inspired when the Pope spoke of his very personal devotional practice of slipping pieces of paper with whatever favor he needed or problems he may have encountered and found daunting, under a statue of a "sleeping" St. Joseph.

In my quiet corner, I too was happy that he shared this.

It reminded me of an even more striking image of Jesus, sleeping on a cushion, during a storm, in the middle of the sea.

This image of the sleeping Savior has always been a source of reassurance and strength for me even long before Cardinal Bergoglio became our dear pope.

JESUS.

ASLEEP.

ON A CUSHION.

DURING A STORM.

IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SEA.

We ride the same boat with the Lord,
we need not fear anything!

(cf. Mark 4:35-41)

  1. Salamat po for sharing this. sometimes, this is all that we need to see: the image of a God who is at peace and unfazed by storms.

  2. Walang anuman padre! Indeed, we only have to be reminded of this powerful image of a sleeping God in the midst of a squall to allay our sometimes unfounded fears. Even the most terrifying storm seems petty and insignificant compared to the greatness of the Lord. Thanks for dropping by!
